You can now have a ‘Star Ceiling’ in your own home cinema, bedroom, lounge room, billiard room or any entertainment area, and it’s easier than you think!
Creative Lighting Concepts has designed and installed many ‘Star Ceilings’ over the years, from basic 150 points of light systems up to complex ‘Star Ceilings’ with over 1000 fibres including a Milky Way and sequenced Shooting Stars which collide and then explode!
Each time we complete an installation the client and their friends gather around totally mesmerized by the twinkling stars. Clients have reported to us that they use the ‘Stars’ to quieten their restless babies or children, while others report laying under the stars after a long day always puts them to sleep!
Can a Home Handyman Install a Kit?:
Yes! They are not difficult, but they can be time consuming, depending on the size of an area. We will supply a made up ‘harness’ with all fibres connected to a Common End piece that simply plugs into the Light Source. The Light Source plugs into a three pin socket, so no electrician is required, as long as a socket exists where you plan to locate the Light Source. Ideally a switched socket is installed into the ceiling cavity by a licenced electrician with the Light Source being turned on by a new switch at the existing switch position on the wall.
How is The Star Ceiling Installed?:
Small holes are drilled through the ceiling (or wall) to mount the fibres, so we supply a couple of suitable sized drill bits, and the appropriate, water based adhesive to secure them in place. Everything you need (except the power drill) is in the kit we supply!
